This series was a roller coaster from start to finish with the South Carolina Stingrays taking a 3-0 series lead only to have the Toledo Walleye climb all the way back to force game 7. It was only fitting that the series would be decided in OT, which even saw ESPN's John Buccigross get in on the action.

Of course we chose Mountain High Hockey coach Cody Lampl to get the winner but it wasn't meant to be on this night in front of a sellout crowd that packed the Huntington Center. South Carolina forward Joe Devin was the OT hero scoring the games only goal at 5:35 of the third overtime. ECHL MVP and Stingrays goaltender Jeff Jakaitis, was able to bounce back after his 3 previous poor outings to record a 44 save shutout. After starting Neil Conway in the previous three games, Walleye Coach Derek Lalonde went back to Jeff Lerg for game 7. Lerg did not disappoint as he stopped 41/42 shots that came his way. All in all it was a gutsy effort by the Toledo club and they have nothing to hang their heads about after their historic season. You can read a full recap of game 7 here.
Forward Joe Devin scored the game-winning goal in triple overtime in Game 7 of the 2015 Eastern Conference Finals to give the South Carolina Stingrays a 1-0 win over the Toledo Walleye.
