Monday Morning Skate 9/28/2015

It was a busy weekend of hockey. The Colorado Rampage were hosting a showcase tournament this past weekend for some of the top U16 and U18 teams in the country. The Showcase was split between the Colorado Sports Center in Monument and the United States Air Force Academy. Teams included the host Rampage, Colorado Thunderbirds, Iowa Wild, Dallas Stars Elite, San Jose Jr. Sharks, Anaheim Jr. Ducks (coached by former CC Tiger Alex Kim, Phoenix Jr. Coyotes, and the LA Jr. Kings. The quality of the competition made for some fast paced hockey and some intense games all weekend.

Cody Lampl and the Fischtown Pinguins split their games on the weekend, losing to the Ravensburg Towerstars 5-2 on Friday. They were able to put that game behind them quickly as they responded with a 7-1 win over EHC Freiburg on Sunday. Lamps finished the weekend with 2 assists. The Pinguins currently sit third in DEL2 standings. We are still waiting for the highlights from the game against EHC Freiburg to post.

For the Colorado College Tigers, this week marks the last week of captain's practices as their season kicks off on Saturday when they face the University of Calgary in exhibition action. It will be my first game back at the World Arena since graduating in 2007. I'm looking forward to seeing all the CC fans at the game. Make sure to stop by and say hello.
